The cutlery industry in Japan is currently aging fast and has shown little effort into finding and instilling passion into young craftsmen. Without these young craftsmen, the traditional knife making skills gained over many generations will slowly be lost. \u201cMirai-den\u201d knives were created in order to make it possible for current craftsmen to find and train those willing put in the time needed to learn and absorb the skills needed to become a traditional knife craftsman.
